The radiant glow of the sun and the vibrant ruby red hues found in the new Monte Carlo Vermouth Bianco and Monte Carlo Vermouth Rosso are evidence of their distinct heritage. The production of these vermouths involves the exclusive craftsmanship secrets from the three Mediterranean countries.
In Monaco’s gardens, where 350 varieties of roses grow and bloom all year round, the flower petals are hand-picked. They are the main ingredient of Monte Carlo Vermouth.
The other ingredients of the secret formula originate in Grasse, France, the world capital of perfumery. Here, in the walls of the legendary distillery, a real miracle takes place: thanks to modern and traditional methods, a unique mix of plants, flowers and fruits yields a priceless essence.
Our challenge was to ensure the top note of pure rose was neither overpowered by the rich and complex blend of botanicals, nor overpowering them. We are delighted to have accomplished this, with the subtle and delicate flavour of rose lingering evocatively on the palate
says Marie Anne Contamin, master distiller from Grasse
However, the full flavor of the product is formed in the Italian Piedmont, where wines are added, some of which are recognized as UNESCO heritage.
In the Monte Carlo Vermouth Bianco composition, a dash of mimosa complements the exuberant floral bouquet of the Moscato d’Asti wine base. These citrus notes mingle perfectly with the wine’s floral core. The wormwood extract that gives vermouth its signature herbaceous bitterness completes the mix. The second dimension is Mediterranean citrus fruits, bitter orange, lemon, mandarine and grapefruit pith, for a fresh and luminous taste. The subtle and enigmatic Monegasque rose asserts itself in a crescendo, lingering evocatively on the palate as the final signature note.
Monte Carlo Vermouth Rosso has an emphasis on intrigue, the play of imagination provoked by its stirring ruby red colour. Let’s reveal some secrets. This colour is a gift from Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC wine base, which has deep and subtle red berry notes with a clean, sharp finish.
Timur Pepper and fresh ginger adds a layer of spicy warmth. Orris Root beautifully enhances the wine’s red berry notes, adding complexity and an unprecedented length in the mouth.
The wormwood extract that gives vermouth its signature herbaceous bitterness completes the mix.
The second flavour dimension is the fresh zing of Mediterranean bitter orange combined with the honeyed muskiness of Immortelle blossom to bring warmth and depth. A rose crowns the composition.
